Introducing Bart. D. Frescura, new Art in a Box artist
Bart has work up in our current exhibition “Scouting Oakland” at The Compound Gallery in Oakland, CA. We were intrigued by his work and we think you will be too!
Bart D. Frescura, born and raised in the Bay Area, has been obsessed with film since he was a child. This obsession is seen in the variety of mediums in which he works (photography, painting, sculpture, and illustration). With a cinematic perspective and hungry eye his works have a film noir quality; creating strange characters and documenting lost stories. He also has worked behind the scenes in make-up, costume, and illustration for local filmmakers. Frescura’s art has been exhibited throughout the Bay Area and North Bay, LA, Pittsburgh, and Orlando. He lives and works in the East Bay as a mold-maker, finisher, and patina artist.
Three Degrees of Darkness in the Art in a Box Headquarters September 21st-November 3rd, 2013
Bart will be the featured artist in the Art in a Box Headquarters from September 21st- November 3rd, 2013. Three Degrees of Darkness explores three photo series by artist Bart D. Frescura. The series represents three levels of darkness ranging from found settings, created characters, and observations of visual dark iconography. Frescura’s photography uses light and shadow to create and bring to life the mood ,emotion and tension of his subjects.
So good to see this fine artist “expanding his horizons”.
LOVEN IT!!!!!!!! CONGRADS to Bart… Can not wait to come out and see his new work… been a follower for years…
